Audit, accountancy, tax, and advisory firm Bishop Fleming has appointed Eoin Heeney as its new Corporate Tax partner to its Birmingham office, strengthening the firm’s fast‑growing presence in the Midlands.
Heeney joins the firm from KPMG, where he spent 18 years building deep technical expertise in corporate tax while developing a broad, relationship-led advisory approach. His appointment significantly enhances Bishop Fleming’s corporate tax capability and supports the firm’s ambitious plans to scale its Birmingham office into a major regional hub.
With “extensive experience” advising Midlands based businesses across industrial and manufacturing, automotive, retail, food, and real estate sectors, the firm said Heeney brings a broad perspective and a joined-up approach to complex tax challenges. His arrival bolsters Bishop Fleming’s ability to support clients with strategic decision making, transactions, and long term tax planning.
Bishop Fleming’s Birmingham office lead, Mark Taylor, said: “Eoin’s appointment represents another major step forward in our Birmingham growth journey. We are building a team that can genuinely match the output of the national firms in the Midlands, while delivering the personal, high‑quality service Bishop Fleming is known for.
“He brings outstanding technical ability, deep regional insight, and a collaborative mindset that will significantly strengthen our corporate tax offering. His leadership will be instrumental in expanding our capability and supporting the growing number of ambitious businesses we work with across the West Midlands. We’re entering 2026 with real momentum, and Eoin’s appointment is a powerful way to start the year.”
Heeney added: “After spending 18 years at a large organisation, I was attracted to Bishop Fleming’s entrepreneurial mindset and its ambition for growth in Birmingham. The firm has assembled an impressive team in the region, and there’s a real energy around turning plans into action.
“Birmingham and the wider West Midlands present a tremendous opportunity, and I’m excited to help build a corporate tax team that delivers high-quality, practical advice and can confidently compete with any firm in the market.”
Heeney’s arrival follows a series of senior hires within the Birmingham office over the past year. Within corporate tax, Bishop Fleming plans to build a team of more than 20 specialists, with further strategic hires planned for 2026 to meet rising demand for support across the West Midlands.
