Bishop Fleming has announced the appointment of two directors to lead its risk and private client teams.

Razia Gent joins the Birmingham office as director of internal audit and risk advisory, while Peter Budden joins the Bristol office as private client director.

The appointments come as mid-tier accounting firms report a trend of clients seeking senior-led consultancy as an alternative to larger national competitors.

The firm, which provides audit, tax, and accountancy services across the UK, stated that these hires are intended to strengthen its capacity for complex advisory work within regional economies.

Andrew Sandiford, chief executive and managing partner at Bishop Fleming, said: “Attracting talent of Razia and Peter’s calibre is a testament to our ambition. Their experience and expertise strengthen our capacity to provide high-level, senior advisory services to our clients – from large corporations, public sector organisations, charities and schools to entrepreneurs and private individuals.”

Budden added: “Bishop Fleming’s focus on growth and commitment to delivering advisory services for clients was a major factor in my decision to join. There is a significant opportunity to support clients at a time when tax advisory is a priority for businesses and individuals alike.”

Gent concluded: “I am looking forward to building a team that acts as a trusted advisor, particularly as clients seek more pragmatic, value-added consultancy as they navigate increasingly complex risk landscapes.”
