Scottish accountancy firm Wbg has launched a new technology services offering aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the UK.

The new service, delivered in partnership with ICT provider NVT Group, will provide managed IT and professional services as part of Wbg’s wider growth strategy.

The firm said the move reflects increasing demand from SMEs for support with digital adoption and cyber resilience.

Gordon Merrylees, head of entrepreneurship at Wbg, said: “Only one in five SMEs consider themselves technologically adept. Many boards rely on limited in-house skills or fragmented external support. Yet businesses adopting multiple digital tools see up to a 25% productivity increase.

“According to the UK Government’s Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2025, 43% of businesses experienced a breach in the past year, 85% of which were caused by phishing attacks. These incidents don’t just cause IT headaches – they disrupt trading, erode customer trust, and carry heavy financial and reputational costs.”

He added: “By combining our financial insight with trusted technology expertise, we can strengthen SMEs’ ability to access investment, attract talent, innovate with impact and harness new technologies for growth.”
