GS Verde has advised on the acquisition of DG Heath (Timber Products), a family-run timber, landscape and flooring supply business based in Swansea, by LBS Group, the largest independent builders’ merchants in South Wales.

Established over 30 years ago, D.G. Heath specialises in the supply of timber products to customers across Swansea and surrounding areas from its base in Pontarddulais.

The business provides timber as building materials, as well as decking, fencing, gates, structures, flooring and more, alongside roofing, insulation, underfloor heating, treatments, and ironmongery.

After many successful years of trading, the family made the decision to sell the business and sought a like-minded partner in the sector that “shared their values and commitment to quality”.

Founded in 1931, LBS has over 35 sites and includes brands such as LBS Builders’ Merchants, LBS Kitchens and Bathrooms, LBS Renewables, Total Plumbing, and Talbot Timber.

The acquisition will add the D.G. Heath brand to its brand portfolio, expanding the timber and landscaping aspects of the group.

Dean Heath, branch manager at D.G Heath said: “It’s an exciting part of D.G. Heath’s journey to now become part of the LBS Family. LBS has been fantastic throughout the process and the owners and staff have done everything pre- and post-sale to enable a smooth transition.

GS Verde Group has also been great, supporting us in all aspects of the transaction to make it as stress-free as possible. As a family-run business, we are looking forward to this next chapter, getting to know new customers and seeing how much further the business can grow supported by a group structure.”
