KPMG UK reappoints Bina Mehta as chair for extended term

Both the board and partnership have now voted in favour of Mehta’s continuation in role for a further two-year term to end on 31 March 2026

KPMG UK has confirmed the reappointment of Bina Mehta as chair, following the firm’s partnership voting “overwhelmingly” in favour of her continuation in the role.

Mehta was first appointed as non-executive UK chair in February 2021, which came after the firm moved to a new governance model that separated the roles of its chair and chief executive.

In November that year, Mehta was elected to continue in the role until the end of February 2024.

In a process overseen by KPMG UK’s nominations committee, both the board and partnership have now voted in favour of Mehta’s continuation in role for a further two-year term to end on 31 March 2026.

Mehta has worked at KPMG for over 30 years, specialising in M&A and restructuring and advising leading private and listed international clients.

In addition, she is an avid supporter of fast-growth businesses, and in 2022, was awarded an MBE for her work supporting female entrepreneurs and services to trade investment. Mehta is also an Honorary Fellow in Entrepreneurship at Cambridge Judge Business School.

Mehta said: “As chair, my priority will continue to be working closely with our board to oversee the firm’s strategy, culture and performance while delivering long-term sustainable growth. And I remain passionate about supporting our colleagues, clients and the communities we serve across the UK to tackle the complex issues of today.”

Jon Holt, chief executive and senior partner of KPMG UK, added: “I’d like to congratulate Bina for the extension of her role as chair of the board. This decision is great news for our firm, our clients and our communities.”
