Accountancy firm HaysMac has appointed Nicky Whitehead as a director in its social purpose team.
Whitehead joins the firm from Crowe UK, having previously trained and qualified at PwC. He has experience advising charities, membership bodies, and arts and culture organisations on audit, financial reporting, governance, and risk.
The appointment follows several corporate developments for the firm in January 2026, which marked its 25th anniversary. These included the acquisition of corporate finance firm Green Square and the purchase of Moore DM’s US tax team.
Whitehead currently serves as a trustee of the Born Free Foundation and is a former trustee of the Jane Goodall Institute UK.
Whitehead said: “I’m delighted to be joining HaysMac at such an exciting time for the firm and its Social Purpose team. The opportunity to work with a broad range of organisations, all making a real difference, was a huge draw. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to support clients in strengthening governance, enhancing reporting, and navigating the evolving challenges facing the sector.”
Steve Harper, partner and head of social purpose at HaysMac, said: “Nicky brings a fantastic blend of technical expertise, sector insight and genuine passion for the organisations we work with. His experience advising complex charities, combined with his hands-on involvement as a trustee, means he truly understands the challenges our clients face. As we continue to grow our Social Purpose offering, Nicky will play a key role in strengthening our audit capability and supporting clients to navigate an increasingly complex landscape.”
