Grant Thornton has promoted seven senior professionals to partner within its advisory business to expand specialist insight across economic, public service and risk sectors.

The internal appointments follow the firm’s equity partner model and aim to strengthen capabilities in data-driven insight and economic development. These promotions are part of a wider strategic plan to recruit 160 partners over the next two years.

Rob Turner and Alasdair Grainger have become partners in the London-based consulting practice. Turner leads public services consulting, while Grainger heads the energy transition and sustainability team.

Tom Middleton and Joel Strange have been named partners to co-lead the economic consulting division. Their work focuses on economic regulation, policy evaluation and impact modelling for clients in London and Cardiff.

Adam Hughes has been appointed partner in debt and capital advisory. He will advise on capital structure, private equity buyouts and merger and acquisition activity.

Emma Young and Ben Langford have been promoted to partner within the business risk services team. Both individuals have worked at the firm for almost 20 years, focusing on risk management and assurance.

Head of core advisory Will McWilliams said: “These new partners truly represent the best of Grant Thornton, ambitious, thoughtful and deeply committed to delivering for our clients. Their promotion comes at a time when demand for high-quality, commercially focused advisory support continues to grow.

“I am especially proud that the partners appointed have come through our own business. It speaks to the strength of talent pipeline and the long-term careers we build here. Each of them has already made a significant impact on our advisory services, and their leadership will be vital as we continue to grow.”
