Henderson Loggie has appointed Jay McKinnon as VAT director in its Aberdeen office, as the accountancy firm continues to expand its specialist tax advisory capability across Scotland.
McKinnon joins the firm with more than 20 years’ experience in indirect tax, having previously held senior roles at Big Four firms as well as international leadership positions in Dubai.
Her sector experience includes energy, utilities and renewables, construction, land and property, higher education, and the charity and not-for-profit sectors.
According to the firm, McKinnon’s appointment strengthens its VAT and indirect tax offering at a time when businesses are facing increasing regulatory complexity and cost pressures, particularly in energy and property-related sectors.
Kimberley Thomson, head of tax at Henderson Loggie, said: “Jay’s depth of knowledge in VAT and indirect taxes, particularly across energy and property, will be a tremendous asset to the firm. Her appointment reflects our commitment to investing in the very best expertise so that the businesses and organisations we work with can adapt confidently to regulatory changes, and plan for sustainable growth.”
McKinnon added: “VAT is often seen as complex, but with the right guidance it can be managed strategically to support business ambitions. I look forward to working alongside colleagues to help clients navigate challenges and seize opportunities.”
