Azets has appointed audit director Ross Webb to its Plymouth office as the firm continues to expand its presence in the South West.

Webb, a chartered accountant, joins the 42-strong team after more than seven years with a Big Four firm in the UK and overseas, followed by a role at another international top 10 practice.

His experience spans manufacturing, insurance, telecommunications, tourism, utilities and professional services. He studied at the University of Exeter and completed his ACA training in Bristol.

Laura Pingree, audit partner, said: “With a regional audit team of more than 150 people, Ross’s appointment comes at a time of significant momentum for our audit practice. It reflects the progress we are making and reinforces our commitment to expanding our regional audit offering while maintaining the highest standards of quality and client service.

“In our Plymouth office, we aim to grow the team by over 40% by 2028. Having only opened the office in 2022, it has been fantastic to see such rapid growth and to be in a position to make strong strategic hires, like Ross, across both the South West and the audit service line.”

Webb added: “I’m excited to be taking on this new role at such an important stage in the Plymouth office’s journey. I’m really looking forward to leveraging my previous experience in the Big 4 and in a fast-growing top 10 firm to contribute to the continuing growth and success of the Plymouth office. The ambition, quality of the team and success achieved to date here in Plymouth by Azets really stood out to me.”

The appointment follows the firm’s acquisition of financial planning business Evans Falco into Azets Wealth Management. Two members of the Evans Falco team are now based in Plymouth.

Azets is an international business advisory group with offices across the UK, including regional sites in Plymouth, Bristol and Truro.
