Moore Kingston Smith has received approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its near-term, long-term and net zero emissions targets.
The SBTi provides companies with a framework for setting greenhouse gas reduction targets in line with climate science and global net zero goals.
The firm has committed to reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050.
By 2030, it aims to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% and cut scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services, fuel and energy, transport, waste and business travel by 25%, using 2023 as the base year.
Its long-term goal is to reduce scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 90% by 2050.
Moore Kingston Smith said: “The approved targets form the foundation of our net zero strategy as we continue to understand and address the challenges of today and tomorrow.
“Achieving these significant reductions in our emissions will be driven by our Natural World Committee, a branch of our Sustainability Committee, which will lead the business in reaching these goals, and we’ll share updates on our progress.”
