Sumer has promoted Nick Taylor to chief financial officer following the retirement of co-founder Nigel Carr.

Taylor, formerly head of mergers and acquisitions, has overseen 34 transactions in just over two years and will now take responsibility for the accountancy group’s financial strategy.

In his new role, he will report to chief executive Warren Mead.

The leadership transition comes as Sumer pursues further expansion through acquisitions and partnerships, with the firm describing the appointment as ensuring continuity in financial leadership and strategic direction.

Mead said: “Nick is a superb colleague and an exceptional leader. With the support of his team, he has delivered and integrated 34 transactions in just over two years, creating significant value for our stakeholders.”

Taylor added: “Working alongside Warren and the entire Sumer team, we’ve built strong financial foundations and driven rapid growth.

“I look forward to continuing this momentum as we deliver on our mission to champion SMEs throughout the UK.”
