Deloitte has welcomed 118 new people to its BrightStart apprenticeship and industrial placement programmes in Manchester and Liverpool. The latest cohort marks the largest intake of graduates and apprentices outside of London, as the firm’s North West practice continues to grow “at pace” and invest in new talent.

The new recruits will work across Deloitte’s four business areas: Audit and Assurance; Tax and Legal; Strategy, Risk and Transactions Advisory; and Technology and Transformation.

Earlier this year, Deloitte’s North West practice also welcomed 81 young people through its ASPIRE and Summer Vacation Scheme programmes.

Aimed at giving young people in sixth form and university the chance to gain real world experience, the programmes aim to “open up future career paths for ambitious individuals”.

Across the UK, Deloitte has hired around 1,200 new people to its BrightStart apprenticeship and industrial placement programmes, with a further 200 set to join in December 2024.

The firm’s graduate programme ranked number four in the latest Times Top 100 Graduate Employer and Deloitte was ranked in this year’s Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers list.

Jo Ahmed, practice senior partner for Deloitte in the North West, said: “Each year we help kickstart people’s careers through our apprenticeship programmes and graduate roles and this year we’re thrilled to welcome 118 ambitious new starters. Shaping the next generation of talent is incredibly important to us as a firm, providing fulfilling careers for young people and creating new job opportunities here in the North West.

“The North West is a very attractive place for young people to begin their careers, and I’m proud that we’re playing such an integral role in driving this forward. It has been a strong year for our North West practice, and we know our new arrivals will make significant contributions to our continued growth. I can’t wait to see what this latest cohort of ambitious young people will go on to achieve at Deloitte.”
