Evelyn Partners has announced the appointment of Vanessa Lee, who brings more than 27 years of experience, to its Northern private client tax team.
Having previously held senior positions at BDO and EY, Lee has a focus on advising high net worth individuals, families, family offices and trustees on a wide range of tax and dispute planning.
During her career, she has worked with both high-profile clients and those which are on a growth trajectory.
In addition, Lee comes with broader experience, such as voluntarily supporting Yorkshire Children’s Charity as a trustee, a long-term supporter of Tax Aid and The Prince’s Trust and as chair of finance and investment at The University of Hull.
Based in the firm’s Leeds office, Lee will also work with tax teams in Evelyn Partners’ Harrogate, Manchester and Newcastle offices on all aspects of private client tax and succession issues.
Tom Shave, head of tax at Evelyn Partners, said: “Vanessa’s appointment comes at a time of significant growth and investment for Evelyn Partners’ professional services business. Our ambitions in the north of England are underpinned by the recent acquisition of Haines Watts offices in Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle.
“A key aspect of our strategy is in attracting senior talent like Vanessa who will bring a new dimension to our business. We are focussed on providing excellent advice to our clients in the run-up to the new government’s first Budget on October 30th and beyond.”
Lee added: “Evelyn Partners is the epitome of an entrepreneurial practice which aligns perfectly with the clients I enjoy working with. I am excited to be part of a team which understands private clients and their needs – throughout both personal and commercial successes and inevitable challenges.
“Supporting both clients and colleagues is of paramount importance to me and I very much look forward to being part of a team which holds private clients and their contribution in such high regard.”
