Blick Rothenberg has appointed John Bull as the head of private client as well as recruiting three new private client partners.

The new partners, Alex Foster, Travis Lee and Kelly Greig, bring different skills and strengths to the firm’s existing team. In addition, the firm had already recruited Malli Kini and Helen Humphries earlier this year.

Foster previously worked for two big four firms, EY and Deloitte. She provides personal tax advice to individuals, focusing on domicile, offshore structures and cross border matters as well as specialising in dealing with individuals involved in private equity funds.

She said: “Most of my clients are currently dealing with a substantial amount of uncertainty regarding their UK tax exposure and I’m focused on guiding them through the tax changes; balancing it with their wider personal and business objectives.”

Lee previously worked for a Big Four firm in China and Hong Kong for 18 years. His role is to support ultra-high-net-worth-individuals (UHNWI) with tax and accounting issues affecting their succession planning, worldwide investments and family businesses. He specifically advises clients from China, Hong Kong and other Asian regions.

He said: “UHNWIs are becoming more concerned with tax planning and compliance. Many families have presence, wealth and assets around the world, especially those with multiple-generations.”

Meanwhile Greig provides advice to high-net-worth individuals, trustees and family offices on the structuring of their affairs and the related tax consequences. She serves as a trusted advisor to clients on both tax related and broader issues as well as specialising in cross border tax issues, with a focus on UK/US in particular.

She said: “We are seeing a rise in enquiries around the proposed changes to the UK non-dom regime which could lead to shifts in choices around residency and investment. Careful consideration of any changes to the rules is required, especially around existing arrangements.”

John Bull said: “I am extremely proud to be appointed as Blick Rothenberg’s head of private client. Our market leading private client team has a strong reputation in London and beyond, and I’m looking forward to building on that. We have a fantastic team of talented individuals, which is further bolstered by the recent recruitment to the partner group of Alex, Travis and Kelly.”

Nimesh Shah, CEO of the firm, added: “I am delighted with John Bull’s appointment as head of private client. John is one of the leading private client advisors in the country, and his leadership and contributions over the last few years have helped position Blick Rothenberg as one of the market leading private client teams in London.”
