UHY appoints three internal partners

Harriet Hodgson-Grove, Khiet Cheung and Tracey Moore have been appointed as partners for the firm

UHY Hacker Young has appointed Harriet Hodgson-Grove, Khiet Cheung and Tracey Moore as partners.

Moore has been promoted to partner after having joined UHY Hacker Young’s Kent firm as a director in September 2019. Based across their Kent offices, she specialises in advising charities and not-for-profit organisations and has been head of the National Charities and NFP group at UHY since the start of 2020.

Her career includes working for BDO, Moore Stephens, Chantrey Vellacott and Haysmacintyre, and UHY said her diverse portfolio of not-for-profit clients includes large national charities as well as regional charities, schools and membership associations.

Meanwhile, Hodgson-Grove has been appointed as an Audit partner in the firm’s London office, where she has progressed through the ranks since joining as a graduate in 2011. After achieving her ACA qualification in late 2015, the firm said she has “gone on to become an integral part of the senior leadership team”.

It added that her expertise is wide-ranging, serving clients in sectors including hospitality, property, natural resources and not-for-profit. She also works on Corporation Tax compliance issues for both small companies and larger groups.

Finally, Cheung has become a Technical and Training partner in the London office, having joined UHY as a Technical and Training senior manager in January 2020. Prior to joining UHY, she spent nine years at Grant Thornton in its national audit technical department, having also previously worked at EY.

As part of the Technical and Training team, Cheung has made a “leading contribution” to UHY’s focus on audit quality. The firm has invested heavily in its audit systems and processes in recent years, with Cheung playing a central role in delivering the project. This includes the successful introduction of a major new knowledge management platform at the firm and a “substantial” change in its technical training.

Colin Wright, chairman of the UHY Hacker Young group, said: “We’re delighted to welcome three new members into our London and Kent partnerships. All three have earned their places through the contributions they have made to the firm. We all look forward to them playing an even more central role over the coming years.”
