Multi-disciplinary consulting practice, Fusion Consulting Group, has announced its acquisition of FDU Group, an executive search and recruitment firm to finance, business and operations.

News of the acquisition means the entrance of Fusion into the recruitment sector, as it provides the firm with the platform for its new Fusion Recruitment business.

Fusion Recruitment will provide recruitment services to the SME and mid-market for both permanent hires and interim placements, and will soon launch its CFO as a service offering, matching experienced fractional CFOs to fast-growth SMEs to enable “hyper-growth with tailored and bespoke advisory services”.

Adam Maurice, director of Fusion Consulting, said: “Finance and operations are the lifeblood of all fast growth SMEs and we are delighted to now be able to provide permanent and temporary personnel alongside fractional CFO services to our existing clients and the wider SME community.

“FDU’s team shared our vision from the start, and we are keen to expand the portfolio of services whilst backing a great team.”

Adam Bloch, head of Fusion Recruitment and previous CEO of FDU, added: “I am thrilled to be joining Fusion alongside my existing FDU team of specialist recruiters to create this new division within the group’s portfolio, and I am excited about the new propositions we can deliver to our prospects and clients moving forward as part of Fusion.”

Mitch Young and Adam Maurice formed Fusion Consulting in 2015 to cater to the private client and SME sectors, providing a broad range of services including international taxation, business advisory, accounting, financial services, legal services and digital marketing.

In October 2022, the group secured an M&A investment from SME Capital for six acquisitions within the professional services sector during 2023. FDU marks the first acquisition of the year.
