MHA Moore and Smalley names Manchester tax director

The firm said Hashmi specialises in advising on the capital structure of businesses and the buying and selling of companies, as well as other exit and succession planning matters

Accountancy and business advisory firm MHA Moore and Smalley has appointed Hasan Hashmi as its new tax director in its Manchester office.

Hashmi will primarily advise the firm’s SME and owner-managed business clients on corporate and personal tax affairs. He joins MHA Moore and Smalley from Saffrey Champness and his previous experience also includes senior roles with PwC and RSM.

The firm said Hashmi specialises in advising on the capital structure of businesses and the buying and selling of companies, as well as other exit and succession planning matters. He also advises on employee share schemes and venture capital reliefs, such as the Enterprise Investment Scheme.

Colin Abrahams, tax partner at MHA Moore and Smalley’s Manchester office, said: “Hasan is a highly experienced tax specialist who is able to give business owners clear and valuable advice on their business and personal tax affairs. His technical knowledge as well as his commercial acumen will be invaluable to our clients.”

Hashmi added: “I’ve worked with Colin in a previous role and the chance to team up again to work in a rapidly growing and client-focused firm was a fantastic opportunity I had to take. I’m looking forward to working with MHA Moore and Smalley’s varied SME and owner-managed client base across the region.”

MHA Moore and Smalley recently announced an expansion of its Manchester office, which is based at 80 Mosley Street opposite St Peter’s Square.
