PwC has announced that Albertha Charles has been appointed as head of asset and wealth management.
A partner at the firm since 2014, Charles has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services.
Having held a number of leadership roles in the firm, her most recent position saw her lead PwC’s financial services valuations business.
Specialising in asset and wealth management, Charles advises a broad range of UK and global clients, helping them understand and assess the value of their businesses, the implications of potential strategic options as well as the opportunities for value creation and growth.
She has been listed in Empower top 100 ethnic minority senior executives lists for the last five years and was voted financial services Leader of the year 2017 at the black british business awards.
She said: “Moving into this role as we begin to recover from the initial impact of COVID-19 means many challenges lie ahead for businesses – most notably how they respond to changing customer needs, to technology disruption and critically, to the increasing demand for ESG-related investments.
“The asset and wealth management sector sits at the core of our dynamic financial services industry and plays a major part in the UK economy. I look forward to working with our people and clients to help showcase the sector and illustrate the value that it can bring to investors and wider society.”
Isabelle Jenkins, leader of financial services PwC UK, added: “Albertha is exceptionally talented and over a number of years has managed to combine her work in Financial Services with an unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion that has inspired those who know her.
“As we look ahead to the challenges and opportunities that 2022 presents, I look forward to working closer with Albertha as part of our Financial Services leadership team.”
