Rachel Taylor has been appointed leader of PwC’s UK government and health industries business.

Having joined the firm as an intern, Taylor has worked across the breadth of its government and health sectors, specialising in finance and assurance.

PwC UK works with government and public sector clients in transport, education, defence, international development, health and both local and central government.

PwC said Taylor will lead a team of professionals who are “committed to providing innovative solutions for clients across the sectors”, working with Government and other service providers to achieve positive shared outcomes for wider society.

Taylor succeeds Quentin Cole, who is promoted to head of industries and takes up a position on PwC UK’s management board.

Taylor said: “As the UK looks towards a fair and green recovery and strives to achieve its goal of levelling up, the industry faces unprecedented change. The pandemic has compounded the challenges that were already presented by digital transformation, climate change and skills shortages.

“These changes present not only challenges but endless new possibilities and with the right collaboration and innovative thinking we can achieve a truly sustainable economy and transform the way in which services are delivered.”

She added: “I’m proud to lead an industry team that cares deeply about the work we do with our Government, public sector, pharma and health clients and is determined to support them as they tackle the challenges and opportunities they face in delivering sustained outcomes.”
