BDO has announced the appointment of three new partners across its audit and advisory teams this week.

Stefan Beyers joins the firm’s financial services team as an audit partner, bringing “extensive” experience in audit and advisory engagements for banking and capital markets clients .

He joins from PwC South Africa, and previously spent time advising corporate and investment banks around the credit impairment impact of Covid-19 and LIOBR transition. His focus on banking clients will continue in his role at BDO.

Meanwhile, Cherry Cromarty joins BDO as a partner in the risk advisory services (RAS) team. She brings almost 20 years’ experience advising businesses across a wide range of industries, and will reportedly use her “breadth of knowledge” to help grow the firm’s internal audit and risk services offering, with a focus on the retail and consumer sectors. She joins from PwC.

In addition, Tom Holt joins as a partner in BDO’s M&A team where he will lead the strategy and diligence offering in the retail and consumer sectors.

As a specialist in these markets, Holt has worked with clients across a range of sectors including retail, leisure, beauty, direct to consumer, hospitality and travel. He also has “significant” experience working closely with private equity funds and their portfolio businesses.

His previous roles include a position as CEO of Pragma Consulting and leading the strategic consulting arm of Kin + Carta Plc.

Paul Eagland, managing partner at BDO, said: “Welcoming three new partners to the firm this month is a testament to our continued investment in our people. Both new and existing clients are regularly coming to us with more complex needs and requirements, and these appointments strengthen the expertise of the firm.

“I have no doubt that all of our recent partner appointments will help us deliver the highest quality work to our clients as we all continue to look ahead to a post-pandemic world.”

Since January, BDO has appointed 17 external and 20 internal individuals as partners.
