Issues regarding sustainability must be a priority for the accountancy profession going forward, according to the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
The professional body’s Professional Accountants in Business Advisory (PAIB) Group published a new report into the future readiness of the accountancy profession, which highlighted key areas for improvement within the industry.
The new report was titled ‘Enabling Purpose Driven Organizations: PAIBs Leading Sustainability and Digital Transformation’.
Among the other issues highlighted in the report were climate change delivery, value creation, changing supply chain operating models, remote working and managing the priorities of the public sector coming out of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sanjay Rughani, the IFAC PAIB Advisory Group chair, said: “It is important we continue to drive forward the key areas of the PAIB agenda and share our learnings across the global accountancy profession.
“Together, we can enable a PAIB-relevant profession that is attractive to the new generation entering the workforce.”
