Professional services firm Sumer NI has appointed Karen Mitchell as a partner within its corporate audit team.
Mitchell, an accountancy graduate from Queen’s University Belfast, has more than 20 years of experience in corporate statutory and internal audit engagements.
She has previously worked with locally owned and internationally backed organisations across the consumer goods, agrifood, manufacturing, energy, and telecommunications sectors.
In her new role, Mitchell will specialise in corporate external audit, managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering assurance services to businesses across Northern Ireland.
The news comes after Sumer appointed two national co-heads of tax to oversee its services across the UK and support its 60,000 small and medium-sized enterprise clients.
The new structure aims to coordinate tax expertise across the group. It will combine national specialist knowledge with local delivery for business owners.
Lisa Wilson and Jason Fayers were appointed to work with team leaders to develop services in corporate tax, private client, innovation taxes, VAT, and compliance.
