Xeinadin has announced its latest acquisition of accountancy and business advisory firm Wasley Chapman, strengthening its presence across the north east and North Yorkshire

The deal brings Wasley Chapman into a shared operating model, which will see the firm align systems, governance, and technical expertise to Xeinadin across its regional offices.

Established in 1918, Wasley Chapman operates from offices in Whitby, Stokesley, Saltburn, Middlesbrough, and Scarborough, supporting owner-managed businesses and agricultural enterprises.

The firm has maintained long-standing relationships with families and businesses across North Yorkshire, including farming enterprises, seaside hospitality operators, manufacturers, and independent trades.

Staff will continue to serve clients from existing locations, supported by centralised infrastructure and specialist capability across tax, audit, and advisory services.

The move comes as local businesses navigate inheritance tax reform, succession planning, and regulatory changes within the agricultural and hospitality sectors.

Derry Crowley, chief executive of Xeinadin, said: “Wasley Chapman has been advising Yorkshire businesses for over 100 years and by joining Xeinadin, it strengthens our presence along the North Yorkshire coast and reinforces our commitment to supporting owner-managed businesses in the region.

“We operate as a fully integrated accountancy and advisory practice. That means shared systems, shared expertise, and consistent standards. With Wasley Chapman joining the practice, we give local businesses access to broader technical depth while preserving the relationships they rely on.”

Phil Cuthbert, partner at Wasley Chapman, added: “Our practice began in Whitby in 1918, when the original partner travelled from London and set up an office next to the train station. Since then, we’ve looked after families and businesses across the region, often acting for three or four generations.

“This move is about making sure we can keep doing that for the next generation. By joining Xeinadin, we gain access to additional tax specialists and technical expertise. We stay local, but we’re stronger and better equipped to support them long term.”
