BTG has acquired the business recovery and insolvency team from Lameys Accountants to increase its restructuring support across the southwest of England.

The deal, completed on 1 May 2026, involves a team of six joining the advisory group. The staff will be led by insolvency practitioner Michelle Weir.

Lameys was founded in 1991 and operates from Newton Abbot. Its restructuring team provides services to commercial businesses and individuals throughout Cornwall and Devon.

Managing partner at BTG, Julie Palmer, said: “Lameys is a well-established firm in the region that has supported businesses for more than three decades. The work of its restructuring team to ensure that businesses receive the best possible advice to overcome challenges at the most difficult of times is impressive and is respected in the region.

“I would like to welcome Michelle and the team to BTG and I look forward to working with them to grow BTG’s existing footprint in the Southwest region.”

Weir said: “I am excited to join the BTG team and to work with Julie to continue developing BTG’s presence in the Southwest. I look forward to working with the broader BTG team and to take advantage of its range of services as we continue to deliver high quality advice, options and routes to recovery for our clients.”
