Hayward Wright has expanded into Yorkshire after merging with Leeds-based Auker Rhodes, marking the firm’s first move outside the Midlands region.

The merger follows a year of growth for the group. Recent acquisitions include Wharfside Accountancy in Birmingham and Ansell Munden in Cannock.

Auker Rhodes was established 10 years ago by Grant Rudloff, Richard Kenyon, and Richard Doyle. The independent firm advises owner-managed businesses and SMEs.

The Leeds office will remain in Yeadon, and Rudloff will continue to lead the local team, while Kenyon and Doyle will remain as consultants.

The group said it aims to use the merger to increase its use of technology. Clients will gain access to additional specialist advisory services through the wider network.

Alistair Hayward-Wright, director and head of acquisitions at Hayward Wright, said: “This is an exciting new chapter for the Hayward Wright group as we expand our footprint and presence beyond the Midlands and into Leeds and the wider Yorkshire region.

“Merging with like-minded practices across the UK is a key part of our strategic growth plan, and from the outset, we knew that Auker Rhodes was a great fit. Grant, Richard, and Richard have built an outstanding practice with a talented team that focuses on long-term client relationships backed by excellent service delivery.”

Rudloff added: “We are delighted to be merging with Hayward Wright Accountancy and Advisory as we continue to develop and grow our practice here in Leeds. We have always been committed to providing exceptional service and advice to our clients, and this will not change.

“Merging with Hayward Wright and joining the wider group will only bring additional benefits to our clients and our team. It will also enable us to grow our footprint as we leverage the wider Hayward Wright network of offices across the Midlands region, and we are looking forward to working together as one team.”
