Accountancy and advisory firm Hayward Wright has expanded into Birmingham city centre through the acquisition of Wharfside Accountancy Services.

The deal marks the latest stage in the Midlands firm’s growth strategy and follows increased demand for advisory and accountancy services across Greater Birmingham.

Wharfside, founded in 2022 by Rob Carroll, will retain its office on Bridge Street. All existing clients will transfer to Hayward Wright.

Carroll will remain with the business as head of operations and will join the Hayward Wright board, where he will support future acquisitions and the firm’s wider expansion plans.

Alistair Hayward-Wright, Managing director, said: “the move was a key step in strengthening the firm’s presence in the region. Birmingham is the economic heart of the Midlands, and we’ve been on the lookout for the right opportunity to establish a presence there.

“When we met Rob, we knew it was the right fit. What he’s established in just three years is impressive, and we know he’ll be a great addition to our team.”

Carroll added: “Our clients will continue to receive the same personal service, now backed by a wider team of specialists across advisory and accountancy. We’re looking forward to this next chapter and the opportunities for further growth across Birmingham and the wider region.”
