RSM UK has appointed Joe Barry as restructuring partner to lead its restructuring advisory team in Birmingham.

Barry joins the firm from Teneo and brings over 14 years of experience in restructuring and turnaround.

His expertise includes cash flow optimisation, operational improvements, and independent business reviews. He has previously advised large multinational retailers, energy supply companies, and oil refinery groups.

In his new role, Barry will be responsible for growing RSM’s restructuring advisory services in the West Midlands, with a focus on securing larger and more complex mandates. His sector experience spans construction, real estate, retail, automotive, and maritime industries.

The appointment follows a period of expansion for RSM’s national restructuring practice as it scales its capabilities to handle more technical insolvency and turnaround projects across the UK.

Barry said: “It’s an exciting time for the firm’s restructuring team as it grows and evolves. I’m looking forward to strengthening the firm’s restructuring advisory services in Birmingham and establishing a regional powerhouse to build upon the success of the national team.”

Damian Webb, restructuring partner at RSM UK, added: “We’re delighted to have Joe onboard to lead our Birmingham restructuring advisory team. His extensive background in successfully executing restructuring projects across a range of industries will be a valued addition to the firm. His experience places him in a strong position to drive growth both regionally and nationally.”
