Alvarez and Marsal Tax (A&M Tax) has appointed Harinder Soor as a managing director in its UK capital allowances team.
Soor joins from KPMG, where he served as an equity partner for 11 years and led the UK capital allowances team for 13. Under his leadership, the firm built a national practice serving corporates and financial services, as well as regional businesses championing an innovative approach to applying technology to tax depreciation.
Working closely with fellow managing director Steve Smith, Soor supports clients from design to construction of real assets, as well as transactions in completed assets, to provide full and clear advice suitable for submission to HMRC.
His expertise spans multiple sectors, with a focus on infrastructure, construction, real estate, hotels, leisure, and retail.
The hire builds on sustained expansion of A&M’s global tax practice in recent months, including in Japan, the US, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand.
Marvin Rust, head of A&M Tax EMEA, said: “Our capital allowances offering, which combines both chartered surveyor and chartered tax adviser expertise, is designed to offer an end-to-end service, supporting clients from the inception to the conclusion of projects. Harinder not only brings a proven track record across sectors; he is a true expert at bridging the tangible asset and tax worlds.”
Ernesto Perez, global head of A&M Tax, added: “Our mission is to deliver material results with a combination of sophisticated technology and expert advice. Harinder’s hire reaffirms our commitment to delivering value to clients embarking on investment projects, and underscores our focus on recruiting top talent to our international team.”
A&M Tax is an affiliate of global professional services firm Alvarez and Marsal.
