Corporate finance firm Gerald Edelman has advised on the sale of London-based bar and restaurant operator Albion and East to Urban Pubs and Bars.
Albion and East, backed by private equity investor Imbiba, runs four all-day venues in London.
Its sites operate as cafés and workspaces by day and as late-night bars offering pizza and cocktails in the evening.
Urban Pubs and Bars, founded in 2014, is London’s largest independent pub operator with around 60 sites across the capital.
The acquisition adds four locations and the Albion and East brand to its portfolio, which generated turnover of about £100m in the past year.
Gerald Edelman acted as financial adviser to the shareholders of Albion and East. The deal provides an exit for Imbiba and other investors, while giving the business access to Urban’s wider operational network and resources.
Nick Wallis, partner at Gerald Edelman, said: “We’re delighted to have advised on this deal for the shareholders of Albion and East. It has been a pleasure working with the team and helping them achieve their objectives. This transaction reinforces our position as one of the UK’s active mid-market M&A advisers in the hospitality sector.”
