Grant Thornton has announced plans to relocate its Leeds office to City Square House, where it will take 9,974 sq ft of office space in the 12-storey development.
The firm, which is moving from its current base at Whitehall Riverside, finalised the deal with the help of property consultancy Knight Frank.
City Square House was developed by McAleer and Rush, and offers 140,000 sq ft of office space fronting City Square. The building is now 96%, with only the second floor under offer and 6,000 sq ft available on the ground floor.
Grant Thornton will join existing occupiers including telecommunications group Liberty Global, pensions consultancy Barnett Waddingham, global law firm DLA Piper and specialist insurer Markel.
Dan Dickinson, partner and practice leader for Yorkshire at Grant Thornton, said: “We’re very excited to have agreed this exceptional new space in the heart of Leeds city centre.
“The building’s sustainability credentials, substantial amenities and modern design will provide our people with a great base from which to support our clients in the region.”
Eamon Fox, partner and head of the Leeds office at Knight Frank, added: “This latest signing means the development is now 96% occupied, 12 months from completion of the building.
“The Grant Thornton deal is the fifth involving high-calibre companies moving into City Square House. Amidst this challenging economic climate, this is just the boost the whole region needed.”
