PwC UK has announced the appointment of Cara Haffey as its new UK leader of Industry for Industrial Manufacturing and Services. 

In her new role, Haffey will take on leadership responsibilities serving PwC’s clients across key industrial sectors, including manufacturing, professional services, automotive, engineering and construction. 

Now based in Belfast, having originally joined PwC UK in 2000 in Glasgow, she has been an M&A Deals partner for more than 10 years. She most recently held the role as sector lead for Manufacturing and Automotive, alongside her Industrials M&A role and heading up Private Business and Deals in Northern Ireland

As a qualified Chartered Accountant, she has focused on lead advisory, financing and strategy for over 18 years. She is also a member of the NI Chamber, and participates in their Infrastructure sub-committee.

She replaces the previous leader of Industry Nick Atkin, who retired over the summer.

Regarding her appointment, Haffey said: “I am delighted to be leading our talented teams in such an important industry for the UK which supports skills and development and is at the forefront of technological change and enables both domestic and international economic growth. Our clients are leading on rapid transformation within their sectors, such as the energy transition and adopting emerging technologies. 

“I am excited and motivated to make a difference within the Industry I am extremely passionate about, focusing on our clients’ key challenges and priorities and supporting the growth agenda.”

Carl Sizer, chief markets officer and management board member at PwC UK, added: “The sectors contained within Cara’s practice are at the forefront of technological change and emerging trends, and in many cases are great success stories, given the willingness to adapt and evolve shown over recent years. Most notably, these sectors will be vital contributors to supporting economic growth in the UK over the coming years. 

“We’re pleased to welcome Cara into this new role which will see her bring her sector expertise to continue to support our clients.”
