Bishop Fleming has announced the appointment of Tom Morrill as its new audit director in Cheltenham, following the opening of this new office in September 2023.

He brings almost a decade of audit and accounting experience to the firm, particularly in industrial sectors such as waste management and construction.

Morrill’s appointment aims to further strengthen the firm’s Cheltenham team as demand for audit services increases, most notably in the owner-managed business market.

Over the last 12 months, the Cheltenham audit team has significantly grown with two new directors, two senior managers and nine other executives and associates.

Bishop Fleming has experienced another successful financial year, which saw double-digit fee growth to over £43.1m.

The firm has also seen its audit revenue grow by over 20% in the last two years alone, with a rolling 12-month growth of over 25%.

Morrill said: “Joining Bishop Fleming at such an exciting and successful time was a no brainer for me. I’m really looking forward to getting started, targeting new clients while supporting existing offerings and focusing on enhancing our presence in Cheltenham.

“Bishop Fleming’s commitment to people and company culture, both within the firm and in client engagement, really resonated with me so the opportunity to contribute to this and the continued success of the business was one I couldn’t turn down.”

David Butler, Cheltenham office lead and audit partner at Bishop Fleming, added: “We’re really pleased to welcome Tom to our firm to continue the expansion of the Cheltenham office and grow our client base in the Gloucestershire area.

“Tom’s focus on building strong client relationships and his expertise across various industrial sectors will be invaluable in strengthening our footprint between the firm’s Bristol and Worcester offices. His emphasis on proactive client engagement and delivering high-quality service aligns perfectly with our commitment to exceptional client care, making him a great fit for our team.”
