Interpath has advised Northern Marine Group on the sale of the Asia operations of its subsidiary Francois Marine and Offshore to Sinwa Group.

Glasgow-based global ship management and marine services business Northern Marine Group is a subsidiary of Stena Group, one of the largest family-owned companies in Sweden.

The transaction includes the sale of the ship supply operations and infrastructure in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Busan of its subsidiary Francois Marine and Offshore.

Sinwa is a major marine, offshore supply and logistics business in Singapore, Australia and Thailand.

The acquisitions support Sinwa’s strategy to consolidate a “fragmented” sector.

Interpath provided lead M&A advisory services to Northern Marine Group on the transactions, which spanned multiple jurisdictions.

The team was led by Neil Sumner and supported by Nick Hill, Jay Kainth, and Luke Thomson.

Sumner said: “The Francois Marine and Offshore business in Asia is a quality and well-known operator in the market that provides a critical platform for Sinwa to further expand its operations in the Pacific region. The transaction reflects the drive for consolidation in what has been a fragmented sector.”
