Saint and Co has announced the promotion of Sophie Graham and Alex Dent to partners.
Graham FCA DChA joined Saint and Co in 2003. Starting as a trainee chartered accountant, she’s now achieved partner in her 20th year.
She brings a wealth of experience in audit, specialising in the charity sector, academies and clubs and has carried out client money audits for solicitors.
Alongside this, she’s still involved in all areas of the business, including corporation tax and VAT.
She has twice served as chairman of The Cumberland Society of Chartered Accountants, most recently 2020-2023, and mentors our junior audit members to guide them through training.
Dent FCA CTA joined Saint and Co in 2015, shortly after qualifying.
Coming from a general practice background, she completed her chartered tax qualification with us in 2019 and now has a varied role in tax.
She provides specialist advice to clients on the structure of their business to ensure maximum tax efficiency, as well as dealing with the private client sector advising on tax planning, capital gains tax, trusts and inheritance tax.
The two new appointments now bring Saint and Co’s total number of partners to 11, five of whom are women including Graham and Dent.
Graham said: “Having trained and qualified with Saint and Co over 20 years ago, I was always proud of who I worked for. Now to be a partner and to be more involved is something I had always aspired for. I’m looking forward to working with the other partners in building on the long-standing relationships with our clients, getting out there to meet local businesses and those in the third sector to provide the financial support and advice they need”.
Dent added: “I am most looking forward to growing my role in the business, assisting individuals and businesses on all tax-related matters. I’m also looking forward to helping “local businesses with their growth strategies and ensuring that it meets their needs and expectations whilst remaining tax efficient”.
