Consilium Chartered Accountants has supported Smedvig Capital in its successful completion of a €6m (£5.1m) investment round into EdgeTier, an Irish company specialising in AI-powered analytics

Smedvig appointed David Hold and Colin McCrann from Consilium to provide financial due diligence services in respect to its investment.

This investment round was led by Smedvig alongside Episode 1 and Act Venture Capital to support EdgeTier’s growth plans and help it meet the demand for its AI applications for customer contact centres.

The Irish company is trusted by brands such as LoveHolidays and Abercrombie and Fitch, and is poised to capture a significant portion of an estimated €7bn (£5.9bn) global market.

Consilium worked alongside Joe Knowles and Maeve Crowley of Smedvig on this investment round, and has previously supported Smedvig with investments in other tech-based businesses such as job search engine Adzuna, restaurant intelligence platform Yumpingo, and research platform Prosapient.

David Holt, corporate finance partner at Consilium, said: “We are thrilled to have supported Smedvig Capital in this investment round. EdgeTier’s AI-powered analytics solutions are truly ground-breaking, and we are confident that this investment will enable them to capitalise on the immense opportunities in the global market.

“As always, it was a pleasure to work with Joe and Maeve on this project. Smedvig has a track record of successful investments in pioneering businesses, and we are proud to be part of their journey.”
