AMS Accountants Group has acquired Aberdeen-based accountancy and advisory firm Infinity Partnership.
The move marks a significant expansion into the Scottish market for the group, with the acquired firm set to act as its regional hub in the north-east.
Infinity employs 35 people and serves more than 1,500 clients from its office on Carden Place.
All staff members will be retained as part of the transaction, and AMS has confirmed plans to recruit further specialists to support growth in the region.
The two firms have collaborated over the past year on audit, corporate and tax advisory projects.
Following the acquisition, Infinity clients will gain access to the wider capabilities of AMS, including payroll, employment taxes and debt advisory services.
Simon Cowie, founder of Infinity, will remain with the business as Aberdeen managing director.
He will lead the local team alongside Steven Fraser, regional managing partner at AMS, supported by Wendy Atkinson as director of growth and partnerships for Scotland.
Simon Cowie, Aberdeen managing director, said: “We’ve built Infinity over the past 15 years into a strong, relationship-led firm, and it was important to find the right partner for the next stage. AMS brings additional scale and capability, which will benefit both our team and our clients, while allowing us to retain what has made Infinity successful.”
Steven Fraser, regional managing partner, added: “This is an important step in building our presence in Scotland. Infinity is a well-established firm with a strong reputation for investing in its client relationships and building long-standing partnerships with the businesses it supports.”
