Deloitte has appointed Andrew Wright as practice senior partner for the South West and Wales, overseeing a regional workforce of 2,300 people across multiple offices.
Wright, who joined the firm in 1996 and became partner in 2012, succeeds Dave Tansley.
Based in the region for the duration of his 30-year career, Wright currently leads the firm’s audit business in Bristol and Cardiff.
He is also a member of the National Deloitte Private leadership team and the Global Audit Transformation group.
In his new position, Wright will manage strategic direction and industry engagement across the two regions.
He takes over from Tansley, who managed the firm’s relocation to the Halo Building in Bristol and the expansion of the Cardiff Delivery Centre. Tansley will remain a partner at the firm until his retirement in May.
The regional leadership team remains supported by Ian Howse, senior partner for Wales, and Sam Hart, office senior partner for Bristol. The practice continues to focus on sectors including advanced manufacturing, clean energy, and the digital economy.
Wright said: “The South West and Wales regions, powered by innovation in advanced manufacturing, clean energy, and a digital economy, offer opportunities for sustainable economic growth. My career has been rooted here, and I know the depth of talent we have. I am committed to developing that talent and ensuring we continue to make an impact on our clients, people and communities. I want to thank Dave for his leadership.”
Dave Tansley, partner at Deloitte, added: “This role has provided a final chapter as I close out my 32-year career with the firm. It has been rewarding to support the growth of our people across the region. I believe Deloitte has a role in the approach required to realise the ambition to deliver inclusive economic growth. I have no doubt that Andrew will harness the talent of our people and continue to build on this momentum.”
