Accounting firm MHA has appointed Murray Watt as partner and head of operations to oversee the execution of the company’s growth and transformation initiatives.
Watt joins the firm following its listing on the London Stock Exchange’s AIM on 15 April 2025. The move was the largest listing in the business support services sector for five years.
The new head of operations previously spent 12 years within the Baker Tilly network. He served as regional director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Baker Tilly International.
Watt also held the role of director of enterprise strategy at Baker Tilly US. In his new position, he will work with the senior leadership team to manage operational strategy and technology investment.
MHA intends to use the capital from its flotation to fund expansion across the UK and international markets. The firm is also prioritising investment in artificial intelligence and scalable infrastructure.
Group chairman and chief executive Rakesh Shaunak said: “Murray brings a rare combination of strategic clarity and operational discipline. His experience driving growth and transformation initiatives across global markets will be invaluable as we continue to build a scalable, innovative firm.”
Watt said: “I’m looking forward to partnering with Rakesh and the wider leadership team to drive disciplined, focused execution across our most important transformation and growth priorities. Continuing my journey within the Baker Tilly International network makes this opportunity especially meaningful.”
