Smailes Goldie has announced it has appointed Andrew Robinson as a new partner.
Robinson is re-joining the northern accounting firm following a three year tenure as senior manager at Saffrey in London. His previous nine-year career with Smailes Goldie includes stints as audit and accounts senior, supervisor and manager.
Smailes Goldie said that he had previously “quickly established himself as a valued member of the team, demonstrating great commitment to client service”, and that he returns with “expertise gained from advising businesses across a wide range of sectors”.
It added that Robinson’s appointment stems from its ongoing commitment to developing talent, notably “homegrown talent”, and ensuring clients can access “trusted, high-quality advice”.
Smailes Goldie offers accountancy, audit, tax and business support services to clients from its offices in Hull, North Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire.
Ian Lamb, managing partner at Smailes Goldie, said: “It is a real pleasure to welcome Andrew back to the firm. He knows our culture, understands our clients and brings valuable experience from his time in London, which I’m sure will help strengthen the support we offer both existing and new clients. We are delighted to have him as part of the partnership and look forward to the contribution he will make.”
Robinson added: “I am delighted to be living back in the local area and to rejoin Smailes Goldie as a Partner. The firm played a significant role in my early development and exposure to many areas of the profession.
“I look forward to building on new and existing relationships with clients, professional contacts and colleagues, and I am excited to contribute to the future success of the firm and help our clients achieve their goals.”
