S&W has appointed Alexandra Bray as partner in its business tax team in Bristol to advise clients on commercial and transactional challenges.

Bray returns to the firm following more than four years at KPMG. She previously worked at PwC and was formerly part of the team at Evelyn Partners.

The appointment follows a period of investment in the Bristol senior team. Graham Charlton joined as partner in private client tax services in January.

Dan Goodall joined as consulting partner this month. Recently, the firm promoted Lynne Blakey and Sabial Hanif to partner roles in consulting and corporate finance.

Bray will focus on the business tax presence of S&W in the South West. She will work with regional and national teams to provide strategic advice.

The Bristol office now has 14 partners, seven of whom are women. This follows the firm’s focus on its Women in Business series in the region.

Bray said: “I am delighted to be re-joining S&W at such an exciting point in its growth journey. The firm has an exceptional reputation for supporting ambitious businesses, and I look forward to working with clients across Bristol and the South West to deliver commercially grounded advice and support businesses as they navigate pivotal moments in their growth journey.”

Katherine Colledge, partner and head of Bristol Business Tax, S&W, said: “It’s fantastic to have Alexandra on board and I’m very much looking forward to working with her again. She has a genuinely client-focused approach that aligns perfectly with us at S&W, and her energy and experience will be a real asset to the team as we continue to strengthen our presence in the South West.”

Helen Bassett, regional managing partner for Bristol, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Alexandra back to our growing Bristol office. Her appointment comes during a busy period of significant investment in our senior team, with a number of new partners joining and progressing within the business, including recent appointments such as Graham Charlton and the promotions of Lynne Blakey and Sabial Hanif.

“I’m also proud that of the 14 partners we now have in our office, seven are women – a testament to our commitment to building a diverse and inclusive Bristol leadership team. Our Women in Business series is another example of how we champion diversity, inclusion and development across the region, and Alexandra’s leadership will further strengthen this focus. Alexandra’s background, advisory capability, and collaborative approach make her a fantastic addition to the team.”
