Forvis Mazars has announced the appointment of Neil Lawrinson as partner and head of UK audit methodology, with the role based in the firm’s Manchester office.
The firm said the appointment forms part of its continued investment in audit quality. Lawrinson will lead the UK audit methodology team and oversee work to develop processes that support its strategy to strengthen audit delivery across markets.
Lawrinson returns to Forvis Mazars after four years in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) Quality Assurance Department, where he reviewed non-public interest entity audits for a range of firms.
According to Forvis Mazars, Lawrinson’s experience gives him detailed knowledge of audit quality requirements and regulatory expectations.
Jon Seaman, partner at Forvis Mazars, said: “Neil brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to this critical role. His appointment underlines our ambition to continuously strengthen audit methodology and empower our teams to deliver exceptional quality. Neil’s leadership will help us shape the future of audit and ensure we remain at the forefront of technical excellence.”
Lawrinson added: “I’m thrilled to return to Forvis Mazars in a role that combines my passion for audit quality with the opportunity to innovate. Our focus will be on sustaining improvements, simplifying risk-based processes, and leveraging technology, including AI, to enhance both quality and efficiency.”
