MHA has announced the appointment of Dean Alexander Hughes as its new head of business consulting to lead a new advisory function at the firm.
News of the appointment forms part of MHA’s wider plan to grow its consulting services in the UK and internationally.
Hughes will work with teams across the network to help clients improve current operations and prepare for longer-term challenges. The practice will cover strategy and innovation, operational excellence, data and technology, culture and engagement, and business risk and resilience.
Hughes is a risk specialist and business leader with more than 20 years of experience in corporate and professional services. He has launched and scaled technology and consulting businesses and has advised global organisations on achieving profitable and resilient growth.
Before joining MHA, Hughes was part of the senior leadership team at DLA Piper International, where he led the international risk group. He previously served as a partner and practice head at Barnett Waddingham, now part of Howden.
Rakesh Shaunak, chair of MHA, said: “I am delighted to welcome Dean to MHA and look forward to working with him as we embark on the launch of our business consulting service line, supporting clients in achieving operational excellence and resilience through strategic advisory and transformation delivery.”
Hughes added: “This feels like a full circle as earlier in my career I was delivering consulting, technology and training services to Rakesh Shaunak and the firm. I am now honoured to be part of the amazing journey of MHA and contribute to the firm’s next chapter in advisory and growth.”
