Accountancy group BK Plus has acquired Geens Chartered Accountants and Wells Richardson in a move that expands its national footprint and introduces a new probate and estate administration service.

The two long-established firms bring almost 250 years of combined experience and are expected to strengthen BK Plus’s regional presence and specialist offering.

Geens Chartered Accountants, founded in 1884, is located in Stoke-on-Trent and is licensed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

The firm provides probate and estate administration services that will now be offered across the wider group.

Meanwhile, Sheffield-based Wells Richardson, established in 1916, supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across South Yorkshire

According to BK Plus, the firm is known for its “hands-on approach and local focus”, which align closely with its values.

The group now operates from 33 offices, employs more than 650 people, and continues to invest in regional offices, technology and local partnerships to support its expansion across the UK.

Shaun Knight, BK Plus managing director, said: “We’ve focused on sustainable, people-first growth – partnering with firms that share our values and local focus. These new teams bring exceptional expertise and regional strength to our business, while our new probate and estate administration service means we can now support clients and families through every stage of life and business.

“Even as 2025 draws to a close, we still have a few more exciting moves to announce – and 2026 looks set to be an even bigger year for BK Plus.”
