PwC UK and ContractPodAi have launched a joint Agentic Innovation Lab and expanded the global Centre of Excellence to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence (AI) for legal and contracting services.

The long-term partnership will see the two firms co-develop and operate the new facility, focused on advancing ContractPodAi’s enterprise AI platform, known as Leah.

The initiative combines PwC’s experience in legal technology delivery with ContractPodAi’s expertise in AI-driven software.

The lab will develop new AI agents for legal, contracting, and regulatory use cases, building on previous collaborations such as the Tariff and Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) agents.

It aims to support clients in improving operational efficiency and regulatory compliance while promoting responsible adoption of AI.

The project will bring together PwC specialists in AI engineering, legal technology, and domain expertise with ContractPodAi’s product team.

According to both organisations, the collaboration reinforces their commitment to responsible innovation and measurable outcomes for clients adopting AI within legal and contracting functions.

Lewis Bretts, partner at PwC UK, said: “This collaboration with ContractPodAi marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of legal AI. By combining our global scale, deep legal tech expertise and an uncompromising approach to innovation, we’re creating a powerful engine for AI-driven transformation.”

Anurag Malik, president and chief technology officer at ContractPodAi, added: “PwC’s global scale and hands-on legal tech experience make them the perfect partner to accelerate our Leah platform. Together, we’re setting a new benchmark for innovation, execution, and client value in legal AI.”
