Begbies Traynor has completed the sale of Ostique Connect, a peer-to-peer support app for people with stomas, to Birmingham-based Salts Healthcare.

Ostique Limited, the female-founded health tech company behind the app, entered liquidation in August 2025.

Craig Povey and Gareth Prince of Begbies Traynor were appointed joint liquidators and managed the sale of the firm’s assets as part of a wind-down process.

Founded in 2017, Ostique developed products aimed at improving choice and dignity for the ostomy community, combining material science with design-led aesthetics.

Its Connect app provided a global online support platform for people with stomas.

The acquisition by Salts Healthcare, completed on 12 September 2025, ensures the continued availability of the app.

Established in 1701, Salts is one of the UK’s oldest family-run medical device companies and operates internationally across stoma care and medical dispensing.

Povey said: “The completion of this deal means that customers of Ostique can continue to use the Connect app under the new ownership of a Birmingham-based international medical manufacturer.

“Under Salts Healthcare, the Ostique Connect app can continue to change the lives of those with a stoma. With the cultures and intentions of the two businesses very much aligned, this is an ideal fit.”
