Accountancy firm Bishop Fleming has appointed Hannah Cox as audit director in its Exeter office.
Cox joins from Grant Thornton and has experience working with mid-market businesses across sectors including consumer products, retail, hospitality, manufacturing and automotive.
She has also held roles at EY, where she worked in audit quality review.
Her appointment is part of the firm’s wider growth strategy, which has included a series of senior hires and the recruitment of 73 apprentices this month.
Bishop Fleming said its audit practice has grown 20% year on year.
Cox will be based at Bishop Fleming’s Winslade Park office, which opened in April.
Cox said: “It was important to me to join a firm that not only had strong ambitions for growth but also a real focus on people and values. Bishop Fleming stood out as the perfect cultural and strategic fit.
“Having relocated to the South West to undertake this role, I am excited to build strong relationships in the region as we continue to develop our client offering. I’m keen to utilise my wealth of leadership experience to help develop and strengthen our talented audit team as we support our clients on their growth journeys.”
Fleur Lewis, audit partner and Exeter office lead, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Hannah to Bishop Fleming. Her appointment forms part of our wider recruitment and investment in our Exeter office in line with our ambitious growth plans. Hannah brings a wealth of experience from large, national firms which can be channelled into supporting both Bishop Fleming’s regional and national growth strategy.
“As the firm continues to experience rapid growth across its service lines, with audits growing 20% year-on-year, Hannah’s sector expertise, knowledge of mid-market businesses, and proven track record of leadership and people development will make her a fantastic addition to our team. I know she will play a key role in strengthening both our audit practice and our culture as we continue expanding our regional footprint.”
