John Jones, head of corporate finance at Beever and Struthers, has announced his plans to retire in September 2025 after nearly three decades with the firm.
Jones, who became a partner in 1999, has overseen hundreds of transactions during his 28-year tenure.
He will step down on 30 September, bringing to a close a career that has seen him play a “key role in the firm’s strategic direction and growth”.
He is widely known across the North West professional services sector, having built longstanding ties with legal, banking and advisory firms.
Jones has also held several industry roles, including as past board member and chair of pro-manchester, vice-president of the Manchester Business Group at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, and founding member of the Partner Steering Group for The Growth Company’s Business Growth Hub.
Dean Curtis, who rejoined the firm in 2021 and was promoted to partner earlier this year, will now lead the corporate finance team. Curtis has more than 18 years’ experience in dealmaking.
Beever and Struthers now has 18 partners across its national offices and continues to invest in leadership and advisory capabilities.
Reflecting on his retirement, Jones said: “It’s been a privilege to be part of Beever and Struthers for so many years. I’ve had the opportunity to work with exceptional people, see the firm grow, and support clients through some of the most important decisions of their business lives.
Maria Hallows, executive partner at Beever and Struthers, added: “As a trusted adviser, John has led with integrity, insight, and a dry wit that makes him as respected personally as he is professionally.
“He’s seen the firm through major changes and growth, and his contributions to both our culture and client service standards are immeasurable. I’m proud of the many deals we’ve delivered, and the relationships built along the way. I’m leaving the corporate finance team in very capable hands and look forward to spending time on new ventures and enjoying a bit of well-earned rest.”
