Claritas Tax has announced that it has appointed Justine Stalker as its new tax partner and head of its new Leeds office.

Stalker brings over 26 years’ tax experience and joined the Claritas team on 2 June.

With specialisms in R&D, shareholder taxes, corporate reorganisations and M&A
advisory, she will be working with the company’s wider team of experts to continue to
deliver advice to the Yorkshire market and beyond.

The company believes that establishing a dedicated base at Platform in Leeds “significantly enhances” its ability to provide advice to the local market.

Stalker said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Claritas Tax as tax partner and head of our new Leeds office. This is a genuinely exciting time to be part of such a forward-thinking and entrepreneurial tax specialist firm.

“Claritas is the largest independent specialist tax provider in the UK and stands apart in the market due to its distinct approach, pricing and client service. Although we only opened our doors in Leeds at the start of June, I’ve been truly overwhelmed by the incredibly warm, welcoming, and supportive response from the Yorkshire market.”

Matt Hodgson, partner and Manchester office lead, added: “We are incredibly excited to have Justine onboard to lead our charge into the Yorkshire market. Justine is incredibly well-regarded in this region, advising mid-market business owners on their personal and corporate tax affairs. Coupled with our recent acquisition of Markel’s Incentives and Reliefs business in Sheffield, it’s exciting to make such an immediate impact in this important region for us.”

The new Leeds office joins Claritas’ existing offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, London, Manchester, Nottingham and most recently Sheffield.
