Scrutton Bland, part of the Sumer Group, has announced the acquisition of Tile and Co, an established accountancy firm in Colchester.

The acquisition will see Tile and Co’s 11-strong team integrate into Scrutton Bland’s Colchester office over the coming months, “ensuring a seamless transition” for both clients and employees. The move aligns with Scrutton Bland’s commitment to expanding its services and providing expert financial advice to businesses and individuals across East Anglia.

As part of the transition, Tile and Co’s founders, Joff Tile and Julian Wyncoll, will continue to work with the team to ensure there is a smooth transition. Scrutton Bland said their “experience and longstanding client relationships will help ensure continuity and a seamless integration process”.

The firm said the acquisition further enhances its ability to serve a growing client base and strengthens its position as a leading provider of accountancy, tax, and business advisory services in the region.

Joff Tile said: “Joining Scrutton Bland marks an exciting new chapter for Tile and Co, our team, and our clients. We have always prided ourselves on providing a personal, high-quality service, and we know that Scrutton Bland shares those same values.

“This move ensures that our clients will continue to receive the highest level of advice and support, backed by the additional expertise and resources that Scrutton Bland offers. Julian Wyncoll and I look forward to working closely with the team over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition for everyone involved.”

Jason Fayers, managing partner at Scrutton Bland, added: “We are delighted to welcome the Tile and Co team to Scrutton Bland. Their expertise and client-focused approach align perfectly with our values. This acquisition is a fantastic step forward in our regional growth strategy, and we look forward to working together to support businesses and individuals in Colchester and beyond.”
