Martin and Company, part of the Shaw Gibbs Group, has announced the appointment of Lisa Ball as tax partner.
Ball, who has been in the industry for more than 30 years, has extensive experience in tax, particularly in family agri-businesses, Inheritance Tax (IHT) and succession planning.
She joins Martin and Company from Evelyn and Partners, where she achieved partner status in 2013 and acted as regional managing partner for the South region as well as head of tax for the Salisbury office.
Regarding her appointment, Ball said: “I have been aware of Martin and Company throughout my career due to their strong reputation in the agricultural sector. It is an exciting time to be joining Martin and Company and the Shaw Gibbs Group as a whole and I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the firm’s growth.”
Naomi Stewart, partner for Martin and Company and head of tax for the Shaw Gibbs Group, added: “As a firm with a niche specialisation in agriculture and landed estates, it is important to us to appoint individuals who come with a wealth of knowledge in the sector.
“Lisa is a perfect fit for the Winchester office, with her expertise and client base aligning very well. I can see Lisa being a crucial part of assisting us with the period of change and development the firm is in the throes of now. I am looking forward to working with her.”
